Week 08
record your voice in a clean environment
cover yourself with a thick blanket, absorb excess voice, get clear recording
record room sound before starting to record the story
effect > noise reduction
remove lip & breathing voice by reducing the selected part voice
CLEAR AND CLEAN SOUND
gate: open when reach certain loudness
amplitude and progression > dynamics > autogate
- threshold: control the limit of loudness when will open and close
- release: how fast the gate will close
compressor: make the soundwave consistent, when reach the limit will push it down
makeup in compressor: make the sound louder (but still remain consistency)
reduce syllables, track certain frequency and reduce it
rack effect> deEsser
add equaliser? depending on your needs, increase the quality and clarity of sound
hard limiter always the last one to modify
feedback: can add music depending on story scene pace, effect & music all internet, story ok, try to count how long will the story take, control within 3 minutes
Using the flat audio as the reference, we need to restore the provided audio source in Adobe Audition to closely match the flat version. We will use the Parametric Equaliser to adjust the audio’s brightness.

PROJECT 02: AUDIO STORYTELLING
Instructions
In this project, we are required to tell a story in the background, adding sound effects that fit the story's theme while displaying visuals of the story told. I chose Lion and the Mosquito as the story to develop as I'm familiar with the story setting. The conversations between the lion and the mosquito will make the story feel interesting too.

Reflection
In this project, I learned how to organise a story into clear scenes and plan suitable sound effects to enhance the mood, pacing, and overall experience. Considering how sound can influence the listener’s perception made me more aware of the importance of timing and scene transitions.
This exercise also helped me understand how audio elements, when combined with storytelling, can make a narrative more engaging and immersive. Overall, it improved my ability to think critically about both the structure of a story and the use of sound to support it.
